PLN Financial Loss

PLN_Financial_Loss
PLN Financial Loss are estimated around Rp30,9 trillion.
The financial performance of the State Electricity Company (PLN) during 2013 was brilliant. The company bears no small loss.

PLN's finance director Setio Anggoro Dewo, said the company lose up Rp30,9 trillion over the past year. "This is due to a foreign exchange loss due to debts of PLN dominated by currency," said Dewo a working meeting with the House Energy committee, on Monday (10/2) in Jakarta.

According to him, the company gains a little bit because 30 percent of the total debt of PLN dominated foreign currency debt. "Debt in foreign currency such loans from ADB, the World Bank, other institutions of the state just as JICA, JIBC, and the banks of the French AFD, including global bonds. It all depends on the dynamics of the exchange rate, "he told tempo.co.

Long-term debt by the end of 2013 PLN reach Rp220 trillion (unaudited). The company's total debt reached Rp466 trillion as of December 31, 2013 (unaudited).

Dewo said actual operating profit of the company has continued to improve in the last five years. In 2008, labayang obtained only Rp 3.6 trillion. But profits increased in subsequent years, to Rp18.4 trillion (2009), RP20,7 trillion (2010), Rp22,4 trillion (2011), and Rp34,7 trillion (2013). As for this year the company aims to reach Rp41 trillion advantage.

Unfortunately, despite increasing operating profit, net profit of the company did not show better performance. In 2008, PLN even lose IDR12.3 trillion. But in 2009, the company had received a net profit Rp14,6 trillion.

Only after 2009, the company's net profit decline to Rp10.3 trillion, Rp5.4 trillion (2011), 3.2 trillion (2012), and dropped to Rp30,9 trillion in 2013. "That's the dynamics of the exchange rate, but we are targeting 2014 net profit to reach Rp11.3 trillion," he said.

However, the company's revenue has increased. In 2013, operating revenues estimated at Rp258 trillion, higher than the previous year amounting to Rp233 trillion. The operating expenses also increased to Rp 223 trillion, from Rp 203 trillion.

The realization of the reality of electricity sales also remained below predictions. The reason is that economic growth in 2013 was not in accordance with government expectations. "Usually the electricity sales growth was 1.5 times of economic growth," said President Director of PLN, Nur Pamudji.

Nur said all sold only 2013 PLN 188.1 TWh of electricity, lower than the target of 189.7 TWh. Nevertheless, he still mamatok sales target 204.6 TWh of electricity in 2014, as agreed with the House Energy Committee.

Assets and PLN in 2013 reached Rp 604 trillion. While the company's equity was reduced to RP 138 trillion, also due to foreign exchange losses amounting to Rp30 trillion. The cost of electricity production (BPP) was Rp 1,338 per kilowatt hour (kWh) and the cost of non-fuel Rp211,3 / kWh.

PLN Director Praises House of Representatives

Commission VII of the House Energy Sector, yesterday held a working meeting with PLN. The meeting, which started at 15.00 pm is scheduled to evaluate the company's performance in 2013 and 2014 work plan.

PLN president director Nur Pamudji in his presentation had three times the energy commission praised the performance, which also supports the performance improvement of PLN. Praise first started when Nur Pamudji said electrification ratio in 2013 exceeded 80 percent achievement. "This is the first time, and all because of Commission VII," he said.

According to Nur, the Energy Commission has supported so that PLN in providing sufficient funds for investment in rural networks and urban networks. "Of funds that increase the electrification ratio is derived," he said.

Nur returned praised Commission VII when calling PLN success in increasing the number of subscribers. By the end of 2013, PLN could serve 53.6 million customers, an increase of 4 million subscribers over the previous year. Increased customer is again due to an increase in the budget for investment.

"Compared to four years ago, the increase only up to 2 million subscribers. If in these years, as long as we interact with Commission VII, investment funds provided by the relatively loose, so customers can be served to multiply, "said Nur.

Compliments to the commission last raised Nur Sutan Bhatoegana leadership was related achievements energy mix. In 2013, PLN can reduce the use of fuel for power generation to 12.3 percent from 15 percent the previous year. Instead, PLN can use gas, which increased to 24 percent from 23.4 percent the previous year.

"The increase in outstanding for gas. Thanks for the Commission VII because it has been allocated gas to PLN 400 TBTU translucent. This year instead become 431 TBTU."

Jakarta Notebook, Most Hated Super E-store

This morning I planned to write a review about another online store in Indonesia. Jakarta Notebook came into my mind as I am currently have a transaction going with them, and it is still on process. So I started to find some information about them by typing the keyword "Jakarta Notebook" on Google Search. And the search result are quiet surprising, just right below the link to Jakarta Notebook online shop, there's also a link to an article that wrote a negative review about the shopping website and came from the owner of Desain Digital blog, the title of the article is "Jakarta Notebook Memang Menyebalkan" which is mean "Jakarta Notebook Is Su*k!" in English.

The sreenshot of google search result with "Jakarta Notebook" keyword.

I wondering what is the problem, and I opened the link then read it carefully. After I read the article and all the comments written by many disapointed JakNot customers, I found out that there is a problem with their service. Almost all negative reviews and comments were slightly disapointing with the careless staff of the online shopping website. This is a huge punishment for the developing online store, and this shouldn't happened to a website which is trying to gain some good reputation around the net.

I'm also quite often using their service and bought some various things from them, but overall my transactions just went fine and no problem, beside of just one bad experience regarding their Affiliate System's program. But hey, one bad customer's experience could bring one negative review brought online through the internet, and then read by millions of internet users. That's an absolute disadvantage for an online shopping website which need good reputation among the other biggest online store in Indonesia.

So in this article I will also write my own experience using Jakarta Notebook..

I began to use their online store service in 2013, when I was looking for PowerBank for my mobile device. They sell a cheap portable charge made by Chinese factory named Taff PowerBank. While other 5.200 mAh portable chargers are priced above IDR 200K, they sell Taff's 5.200 mAh for just IDR 120K (equal to US$ 10,- only). I was interested so I bought one online using Cash on Delivery method. The first experience was satisfying.

Then I started to think of selling some cheap goods offered on their website, so I bought another couple of Power Bank to sell it to some of my friends. Once I had a quite big transaction when I sold an Apple's iPad 1 to my friend priced IDR 4 million (US$ 380,-), and it was also a nice one.

But the nightmare started when I applying to join their new program Affiliate System. After I completed the registration step one by one, I transferred some money (just IDR 100K) to Mr. Heryyanto for the cost completing the program's registration. After the transfer done, my merchant ID is verified and given the Merchant ID number.

For a while it was started to confuse me, because the personal manager they appointed for me were not supportive at all. He should actually guided me about the process of becoming one of their affiliate system member, but he didn't.

From that time I realized, this is why Jakarta Notebook is having so many negative review around the internet. The have no sufficient qualified personnel working for them. As an employee of Online Store, you have to be respective person and care your customer more.

Nokia Lumia 1520: Smartphone With Windows 8.1 OS by Microsoft

With the surprising acquisition of Nokia by computer software giant company, people are already wondering what kind of maneuver do Microsoft planned for the smartphone market. Do they need Nokia to raise their mobile Operating System Windows Phone, or they just want to compete with Android and iOS as the market leader of mobile smartphone all over the world.

And finally after the release of their newest smartphone, Nokia Lumia 1520 which is using Windows Phone version 8.1 by Microsoft, most people were aware of the answer. This smartphone is no joke at all, with amazing 20 Mega Pixels camera and Full High Definition (Full-HD) resolution 1080p screen and a Quad Core processor, it is definitely an absolute competitor for Samsung's Galaxy S5 which is using Android 4.4 KitKat and Apple's iPhone 5s which is also preparing for the new iOS version 8.0 updates. Then what about Blackberry? They are now sinking to the bottom of the sea because of their failure to read the smartphone market development, and by letting Blackberry App World not well developed, they already digging their own grave. Along with those marvelous features, Nokia Lumia 1520 came a surprisingly cheap prices compared with their rivals. In Indonesia, Nokia Lumia 1520 is only priced at Rp 8.000.000,- (equal to US$ 700,00), almost more than Rp 2.000.000,- (nearly US$ 180,00) cheaper than iPhone 5s.

This can be a huge leap for Nokia to it's campaign as they want to take back their stature as the king of the world cell-phone manufacturer. As we all know, Nokia was once became the only king of world cellular phone manufacture with their hundred of million best selling cellular phones. After the booming of Android smartphones, Symbian were dead and Blackberry were drowned. Meanwhile iOS and Windows Phone were struggled in smartphone market. iOS can be considered as a well-established operating system, with a good environment of games and application developers, so they have no worry about Android Market (now Google Play) rapid development. But Windows Phone are moving slowly, and their environment also need more push to be a good app store like Android's and Apple's store.

I really hope this new Nokia smartphone can bring the victory they had once, a long time ago. That can only achieved by developing the Windows Phone games and application store. If it is easy to use, and there are a lot of free apps and games available, people are likely to accept the product well. The key is on their platform and operating system.

Microsoft with their new toy should learn from what happened to Blackberry. When they fail to accommodate the need of good application's environment like what Android has, people will start to leave them soon enough. Blackberry definitely failed to develop Blackberry App World, and now we all can see clearly where them at on the list of successful smartphone manufacturer.

If you do not understand what I'm writing, don't worry, me either. I'm just practicing my English by writing this article. Don't mind, just skip it and leave this blog as soon as you can. Please don't get angry, peace!

Google's Free Online Service Products: The Domination Of Internet Use (With Blogging Tips to Earn Money)

How Did Google Make Big Money And Became Internet Giant?

It is a simple question with a very simple answer. Before I give you the answer, I should explain you about the question.

Google known for it's superior search engine, successfully eliminating Yahoo! and MSN Search as their opponent long time ago. With them dominating the search queries all over the world, they processing over than 398 billion search per day or equal to 11.944 billion search monthly. The amount of unique visitor to Google Website is 178 million unique visitor every month. With that many Google search per day, no wonder that it became the biggest IT Company ever exist in the world along with Apple and Microsoft (with now Samsung are beginning to walk their path trailing them, thanks to the popularity of Android OS-also created by Google). Google in now used by almost nearly all of the people who ever been using internet, and became an important part of our life. Even the word "googling" now included in Oxford's English Dictionary.

Why did they became the biggest company in the world? They start it with advertising. In accordance with their popularity as a search engine, they used their largest traffic to create a "golden mine" made by advertisement. They made Google AdWords and Google AdSense as an ultimate weapon of increasing the size of the company. Google AdWords is for other companies who wants to put their advertisement, and Google AdSense is for the people who wants to join Google as a publishers. Millions of Google customer every day are like honey to the companies who need to promote their products. And Google made their large revenue from there.

Beside the Google AdWords and Google AdSense, the company always keep to gaining more and more customer by adding more variety of their service, because more customer means more money. Money is no problem at all for them, so they begin to conquering one by one of internet service may provided in this world. This is some of Google online products which is dominating internet use all over the world:

Google Search: This is their Primary Business, and everything that they achieved today are because of this start-up. They easily beat Yahoo! search engine and MSN search without any resistance. Their magic key to success is fast and easy to use search engine, with a simple display. Along with that excellence, their search results are the most accurate because of their sophisticated algorithm called PageRank invented by their founder. Google search engine is considered as the most successful online service ever existed.

Gmail: This is their free e-mail service, offering you a free 2 Giga Byte storage on cloud system and also with easy to use concept plus simple display. It also built in with their messaging service, so you don't have to sign up for Google Talk service no more. With this e-mail service, Google are head to head with other free e-mail service like Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail.

Google Talk: Now it is called Google Hangouts. Is their online messaging service, trying to compete the popularity of Yahoo! Messenger. To make it easier to use, Google embedded this product in their e-mail service. I have no data if this messaging service already pass Yahoo! Messenger or not. But now I think Android OS will help this service to be one more dominating Google service.

Blogger: created as their free blogging service, again with a simple setup and very easy to use compared to their rival, wordpress. People who wants to register in blogger must have a gmail account first.

Youtube: With the rapid development of telecommunication infrastructure and the increase of internet speed, Google soon realize that video streaming website services are the future of internet use. People not only want to read article but also want to hear and see. So they bought Youtube for a 1.65 billion US Dollar price tag, making it become the biggest acquisition at the time. But it worth every single penny as Youtube maintain their stature as the biggest online video streaming website in the world, and Google gain more customer from this service.

Google+: Are their last effort to compete with Facebook and Twitter in social media competition. Although it was considered too late for Google entering the social media market, they try with all power to make this service popular around the world by embedding it into other Google service available. Too bad it's offering nothing new, so the respond is rather cold than expected.

So, the tips for your blogging is: don't forget to use all of Google's free service to maximize your earnings. It can be very useful.

Online Store Tokobagus.com Changed Name Into OLX.co.id

Tokobagus.com Surprisingly Change Their Name Into OLX.Co.id

There are something different when you tried accessing the online buying and selling websites, Tokobagus.com. After typing the URL address, a notification appears on the screen stating that the name of biggest e-commerce site in Indonesia Tokobagus.com will be changed into OLX Indonesia and it's address will also change at www.olx.co.id.

A surprising maneuver made by the business company Tokobagus has officially announced that the website changed its name becoming OLX starting Tuesday, twentieth May 2014. In an official statement, OLX explained that this change only occurs in the new name and URL. Trading activities and advertising can still be done as usual.

"This change will only occurs to the website name, which Tokobagus.com be OLX, including a new logo and URL we specially introduce to you. While all other aspects, which have been enjoyed by millions of Indonesian society today, will remain the same and unchanged," wrote the e-commerce company in press release received lately this morning.

Just a short review, OLX itself is a global e-commerce brand owned by Naspers. The company has invested in Tokobagus since 2010. Thanks to it's aggressive advertising method on the internet, the commercial site literally achieved success on commercial and brand recognizing by Indonesian netters. Now it is considered as one of the biggest online shopping website and every single user can be their own seller plus being buyer to another seller.

OLX Group is now already present in 106 countries. The websites of e-commerce was already available in more than 40 languages. OLX Group was founded in 2006 by Fabrice Grinda and Alec Oxenford. Since they were first established, the company is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina. However, after the expansion, OLX moved its base of operations in New York, USA, in effort to chasing another success story of Information Technology company as the other competitors.

In 2010, Naspers entered as a strategic investor in OLX, reportedly through an investment of 20 to 40 million U.S. dollars. With this large amount of capital, they hope to be spreading all around the world and become the biggest e-commerce company in the world.

Naspers is a large media group based in South Africa. Expansion into Indonesia made in 2010 when investing in Tokobagus, and also Multiply that now has stopped operating.

When investing in a group OLX, Naspers said it would acquire or establish an internet community in the country, before plunging into e-commerce, communications, and content.

Since it was hard to compete in Indonesian e-commerce market, where there are some large company operating various website with online-store concept, such as Berniaga, Lazada, Rakuten, and the minor companies like Kaskus with their unique militant users and followers, OLX Indonesia need to be more aggressive than their rival to promote the new name, logo, and URL.

We will no longer see the cute and funny advertisement on Indonesian television saying "Jual aja di Tokobagus.Com", instead of the new ads which promoting the changing concept of their e-commerce website. Well, I hope they will be able to maintain their success formula in making online trading in Indonesia become easier.

Blogging Tips: Finding Best Topic To Write For Your Article

What Kind of Topic is Best For You to Write as An Article?

When it come to choosing on what kind of topic should you write about, maybe you'll need to read this article first.

Sometimes you get stuck on getting more ideas for you blog, and your fingers are stand by on the computer's keyboard but you still don't know what to write. Well, I've been experiencing that too.

First of all, we should see what really are people mostly want to search about on the internet. Just imagine if it was you, what kind of information do you want to read when you are opening a Google Search tab?

What people commonly want to read on the internet basically about these things:
  • Finance
  • Clothes
  • Food (Culinary)
  • Property
  • Automotive
  • Technology (either gadget or computer stuff)
  • etc.
It's always a better idea to focusing you blog into one specific themes or topic which you are mostly interested in. Studying first about the topic you will write is good, knowing that your online audience will come with high criticism and some of them have higher knowledge than you are.

After choosing your main topic for the blog, you might want to do some simple research for the sub-topic which can be listed to article development in your site. For example, if you choose the Technology topic, you should consider to write about some sub-topic such as Computer, Smart-phone, Operating System, and other category which is hot topic around the world recently.

For computer sub-topic, you can choose to write about newest processor released, latest hard drive technology, or maybe some Video Card's driver update. And for Smart-phone sub-topic, you can write a short review about the latest gadget available on the market such as Apple's iPhone 5s or Samsung Galaxy 5. And surely, for Operating System sub-topic, you can write about the most wanted Operating System developed by Google, Android OS. With it's success dominating the use of mobile device's Operating System in the world, it's hundred million users must be hungry of information about it. You also might want to write about some big companies in technology such as Google, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, or some social media companies. Writing some article about Samsung may be a good choice because the Korean giant is aggressively boosting it's reputation now and able to match the famous Apple product. There are millions of Samsung users, and they are your definite audience to be worth targeted. To help you writing your new post on blogger, you can use search engine like Google, and just type what you want to write, you will see tons of reference and material to be choose on.

Well, that's just my own opinion, based on this low-knowledge mind. But I'm sure that there is only two kind of blogger:
  1. Self-interest Oriented
  2. Audience Oriented
If you are the first kind blogger, you can write anything you like and interested to, and you don't need to worry about who will read your blog. But if you are the second kind of blogger, you should consider of what your audience want to read, not your interest only. By doing this, your blog will drag more visitor from the search engine because of it's relevancy with common interest of most people.

At last, I beg your pardon for my bad English, I'm not so fluent on writing or speaking English, but I really hope you get my point. :D

Blogging Tips: Using Google Translate As An Indonesian-English Dictionary

Utilizing Google Translate As A Useful Tool To Write English Language-Article.

A long time ago before the internet was found, people are using a dictionary books to translate a foreign words. Millions of dictionary books were sold in hundred of languages all around the world.

For example: English to Indonesian dictionary, or in reverse Indonesian to English dictionaries. I've seen so many foreigners (mostly tourist), are traveling in my hometown with this books on their hands, trying to communicate with locals.

It was quite difficult to find just one word inside the book, along with couple thousand of words in it. You must search for the page according to the index letter, than looking for the meaning of it. If finding the meaning for just one word was so difficult, then what about trying to talk in a full foreign language we never heard at all? It must be a hard thing to do.

An example of Indonesian-English dictionary book is the one on the left side picture, it was a very famous dictionary earlier in Indonesia, and had been printed several times because it became best seller at the time. The word "Kamus" means dictionary in Indonesian. It was written by John M. Echols and Hassan Shadily, and was published by PT. Gramedia Jakarta as one of the biggest publishing company in Indonesia. You can still find this one on many books store available in Indonesia. But bringing this kind of books walking around the streets in Indonesia will make you looked like an old-fashioned tourist.

Then after the development of electronic technology, several company start focusing on mobile gadget, there was some electronic devices with special utility as a dictionary which was called "pocket digital dictionary", and it can be installed with more than just one language with the feature of speaking voice of the words. It was a huge development at certain time.

People were no longer need to search page to page in effort to looking for the meaning of a foreign word. They just need to type the word on a physical keyboard, press enter, and the small monitor will show them the meaning of the word and some phrase suggestions containing the word they was looking for. One of them is the digital pocket dictionary made by AlfaLink, which is priced around 200,000,00 Indonesian Rupiah (equal to $18,00).

After that, regarding the leap of mobile telecommunication devices rapid development, many smart-phone with powerful processors can be installed with a dictionary program. Such as Nokia with it's Symbian Operating System, and now we know Android developed by Google are already conquering the world with millions of gadgets using it. Then dictionary book and devices was barely forgotten, with people now can easily download a dictionary application available from the OS Store.

But for us blogger, especially people who write blogs in English language but not speaking English everyday as their primary tongue. We can use the powerful translator provided by Google: Google Translate. Blogging in other language is as easy as writing in our own language now.

Why is Google Translate so powerful? Because they can translate a huge amount of foreign words in count of second. Not just a few of language, but so many language around the world. It can be a very useful tools we can use to translate our article into full English paragraph without translating one by one. It saves your time a lot, and huge thanks to Google, it's totally free.

But if you translate from English to Indonesian, you'll find some minor problem that the translation is not one hundred percent accurate. The grammar is sometimes wrong and not well-stacked, but the spelling is perfect. The punctuation mark is often different from what Indonesian commonly used in the rule of EYD (stands for "Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan", an Indonesian rule of grammar and spelling). There often a space automatically given by Google Translate after a sentence before the dot mark.

Overall it was good, perfect spelling, and it's also very fast. The minor things is just some messy grammar and wrong punctuation mark. You can write a whole article in any language in just no time. A five star Google free service for the world.

Blogging Tips: Amount Of Words In A Good Article

How Many Words Should Be Contained In An Article To Be Considered As A Good One?

When you start to write an article for your blog, you must be wondering of how much words it takes to be a good one. Although there is no specific research done to analyze this, some information that I have found on internet shows me that a considered good article should contains at least more than 400 (four hundred) words in it.

In a webmaster's forum I recently visited has brought out various amount of words that needed based on each personal opinion, starting from 500 (five hundred) to 900 (nine hundred) words as they say. But most of them agreed that an article should be not less than 400 words or else it won't be containing sufficient words needed to be at least an enjoyable writing to read.

Well, if you want your blog to be search engine-friendly, you must notice this rules and apply it so that your writings can be a good reference for the visitor who is looking for some information on the internet.

For me myself, I'll take the suggestion which says my article should be containing not less than 400 words each, and I will strictly apply these rule every time I start to write a new one. Basically if I don't want my content to be looking good for some search engine out there, I will write minimum 500 syllable on it. That's an ultimate border, never less than that and 600 words is at the high end of what my readers are going to make time for. I don't want my article not approved because the content were not précised.

So the conclusion of my own research on the internet is every article written in blogs, sites, or anywhere else should has the range of 500-600 words contained in it to be considered as a good one. That is the ideal range that will make your blog gives a better reading experience for it's visitors.

After you wrote your whole column, take a short time to do a simple spelling and grammar check using free online spell checker available on the web. For example using JSpell, an online spell checker for public and it's totally free to use. I included the link so it saves your time rather than opening a new tab to search for it.

Checking the spelling and grammar in your article is also important, so it's not just only about the amount of words contained. A badly written paragraph is not doing any good for your blog, as your visitor may leave your site immediately. Mistakes such as miss-typo also bad for search engine because you will loose some important keyword indexed by their spiders.

Doing this things might seems to be a little time-wasting, but trust me, it's worth it. When you expecting visitors to come back again next time or even better: giving you a back-link, make sure you gave them a good experience while reading your blog. So I am highly recommending for you using this useful tips on your blogging method.

Just remember this three simple guide for your blogging way:
  1. Original content
  2. Effective writing
  3. High quality blog
Hope it works, good luck!
